SUMMARY

Inaugurated in 1959 and expanded in 1976. Distributes approximately 30% of the treated water demanded by the city of Bogotá and near municipalities and its the main supply backup system in contingency situations.

Its has multiple water sources with variable quality which has worsened over the years reducing the plant’s treatment capacity and therefore a process optimization is required.

SCOPE

Basic design of the most viable alternative and definition of the required information to open a bidding process for the detailed engineering design, construction and operation of the optimization systems for the Tibitoc Potable Water Treatment Plant, This bidding process will be based on the results of the plant’s status diagnosis and the formulation and evaluation of optimization alternatives that guarantee a reliable and continuous water flow of 10,5 m3/s, with daily maximums of 12,0 m3/s.
